I am located in Allen, Texas--just North of Dallas. I have been a hobby breeder of French Bulldogs for the past eight years. All my dogs live in our house, not in kennels. We convert the dining room to a puppy room when it there is a new litter. At first we keep a temperature controlled whelping box for the mommy and the babies, and a bed for me to sleep next to them for the first three weeks so I can keep a close eye on everyone.
After three weeks, we dedicate the whole dining room for the puppies and start to let them run around the house to play with the whole family and other dogs. In the puppy play area they using pee pads at night, and when let out they run outside and immediately do their business. I only feed them Royal Canine dog food (covered in goat's milk when they first start eating solid food). They socialize with everyone in the house (I have three children, a cat, and two other dogs). They love their outside time the most where they have a large fenced back yard with lots of plants, mounds of gardening dirt, and trees to explore and run around. Hide and sneak, and tag is the game they love the most with each other (and with the big dogs too!). I do not have a kennel or sell to brokers, or just anyone simply to make money breeding. I am looking for new families that can continue to provide the same environment that they have been raised in. My whole family fell in love with the breed with our first Frenchie, Tilly. French Bulldogs are entertaining (little Jesters!), social, patient, and sensitive to humans' feelings. French Bulldogs are not a good choice if your looking for a running companion or need to leave them outside all day in the heat. Their square build and heavy head do not make them good swimmers and most can not swim. They do not like being left alone all day with nothing to do. The are social and want to be around people or other animals, but will not be underfoot. They will bark to announce visitors but otherwise quiet dogs. Take a look at the puppies, but warning...you can't help but fall in love. |
